Sew Inappropriate is a brand of Make Chaos Ltd (company number 15944596, Unit 7 Victoria Avenue, Peacehaven, BN10 8HJ). We're the controller of the personal data described here. Questions: hello@sewinappropriate.com.

What we collect

• Order details: name, email, phone, delivery address and what you bought.
• Payment: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Custom orders: the wording or artwork you send us.
• Emails you send us, and our replies.
• If you sign up for emails: your email address and whether you open or click them.

Why we use it

• To make, send and support your order (contract).
• To keep accounts and tax records (legal obligation).
• To send marketing emails, only if you've said yes (consent). Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the shop: Shopify (stock and orders), Supabase and Vercel (our order system and website hosting), Stripe (payments), Postmark (emails) and Royal Mail (delivery). We don't sell your data.

How long we keep it

Order records for 6 years (tax law). Marketing data until you unsubscribe, plus a record that you did so we don't email you again. Custom artwork for 2 years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We only use what the site needs to work, such as remembering your basket in your browser.
