1. Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of www.sewinappropriate.com ("Website") and any purchases made from us. Make Chaos Limited (trading as Sew Inappropriate) ("we", "us", "our") provides this Website and associated services.
By accessing our Website or placing an order, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms, agree to be legally bound by them, and are at least 18 years old. Our products carry strong language and adult humour.
If you do not agree, you must not use our Website. These Terms incorporate our Returns & Refunds Policy, Privacy Policy and Shipping Policy.
2. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your purchase will apply to your order. Continued use of the Website constitutes acceptance of any changes.
3. Online Store Terms
You agree not to use our products for unlawful purposes, violate any applicable laws, infringe intellectual property rights, transmit viruses or malicious code, or engage in fraudulent transactions. We reserve the right to terminate access for breaches.
4. Orders & Contract Formation
All orders are subject to acceptance by us. A contract is formed only when we issue order confirmation.
We reserve the right to refuse any order, cancel suspicious or fraudulent orders, limit quantities per person or household and refuse bulk purchases. If we cancel your order, we will refund payments received.
5. Personalised Orders
When you ask us to stitch your own words or design, you confirm that you have the right to use them and that they do not infringe anyone else's rights. Rude is fine. We will not stitch anything hateful, threatening, discriminatory or aimed at a real private person, and we may refuse or cancel a personalised order for that reason and refund you. We send a proof before we stitch; once you approve it, the item is made for you and cannot be returned unless faulty.
6. Pricing & Payment
All prices are displayed in GBP and include UK VAT unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices without notice, correct pricing errors and cancel orders placed at an incorrect price.
Payment must be received in full before dispatch. Payments are processed securely via third-party providers. We do not store full payment card details.
7. Products & Availability
Certain products may be limited edition, made-to-order or personalised. We reserve the right to withdraw products at any time, limit quantities, and modify product specifications or artwork where necessary.
Minor variations in colour, stitch placement, garment base or sizing tolerances do not constitute a fault. Website images may include mock-ups.
8. International Orders
If ordering from outside the UK, you are responsible for customs duties, taxes and import charges. We are not liable for customs delays or additional charges imposed by authorities. Risk transfers to you upon delivery.
9. Delivery
Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers, customs, force majeure events or incorrect customer information. You are responsible for providing accurate shipping details.
10. Returns & Refunds
Returns are governed by our separate Returns & Refunds Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.
11. Intellectual Property
All Website content including designs, artwork, graphics, logos, product names, descriptions, branding and images is owned by or licensed to Make Chaos Limited.
You may not reproduce, resell, distribute, commercially exploit, modify, mint as NFTs, or use for AI training or scraping any of it without express written permission. Unauthorised use may result in legal action.
12. User Content
If you submit content (reviews, comments, images, tags, social media mentions), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, edit and distribute such content for marketing and promotional purposes. You confirm that you own or control the rights to it, it does not infringe third-party rights, and it is not defamatory or unlawful. We may remove content at our discretion.
13. Fraud Prevention & Chargebacks
We actively monitor transactions for fraud. We reserve the right to cancel suspicious orders, request additional verification, refuse future orders, dispute chargebacks and recover administrative costs resulting from fraudulent disputes. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in account restriction.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our Website and services are provided "as is" and "as available", and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any matter that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the above, our total liability arising from any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant product, and we are not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, business or opportunity, or reputational damage.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Make Chaos Limited from any claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Website or your violation of third-party rights, including words or designs you ask us to stitch.
17. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemic, government restrictions, supply chain disruption and courier delays.
18. Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer residing outside England and Wales, you may also benefit from mandatory provisions of your local consumer law. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law provides otherwise.
20. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to our Website at any time for breach of these Terms.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and Make Chaos Limited.
